A team of scientists from the Wissenstransferzentrum Süd (WTZ-Süd) at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt, Austria, is currently researching to answer these and several other questions. For more than three years, different studies and surveys have been conducted in all parts of Austria, especially in the WTZ-Süd region (Carinthia and Styria). The researchers have gathered data on terminology, scope, relevance, and other aspects. They have also explored the demand for funding and support, as well as specific strategies that should be implemented in order to foster knowledge transfer in the social sciences and humanities. An important part of the project addresses the issue of ‘Gender & Empowerment’. In this area of research, knowledge transfer has turned out to be a topic of particular importance.
The following brochure (German version only) that was compiled within the framework of the project gives an overview of the issue of knowledge transfer in the social sciences and humanities and describes good-practice examples. Furthermore, specific realizations that were conducted within other projects of the WTZ are illustrated. The open access strategies are explained and its impact is elucidated. The purpose of the brochure is to raise the awareness for knowledge transfer in the SSH and to clarify its importance.
